Syy viime syksyn ompelemattomuuteen - The reason for not sewing last Autumn

Last summer when Emma was still inside my belly I started doing this blanket for my mum for her 60th birthday present. Well last summer was super hot here and as I was sewing for the blanket my feet got so swollen that they hurt for days. And so I had enough. It wasn't until it was time to make Christmas presents that I got the sewing machine out of the cupboard and started sewing.

So mum got her blanket for Christmas and unfotunately I forgot to take a picture of it. But mum was happy and pleased and that's the most important. I look up to those people who do quilting and applique. This at least was absolutely horrible. :)

I like winter...

... as long as I can stay inside. I love how these pictures turned out. We were driving home one time (before Christmas) and it was absolutely magical outside.

And then last week we bought tickets to Australia. So I hope I'll remember how beautiful it can be during winters but I also hope that I don't have to say "I wish I was in Finland during winter". Hopefully won't miss the cold. Will miss all of you friends in Finland though.
